[1]
From the holiday cottages turn right past the hay barn, through the wooden gate and then turn immediately right, following the track for 200m to the first aluminium farm gate.

[2]
Go through the gate, keep to the left and follow the two rail wooden fence on your left (there may be horses in this field).

[3]
After approximately 600m you will come to a wooden stile. Cross this stile and then the one immediately opposite. Walk straight ahead for approximately 300m through a newly planted area of trees to a stile by the side of an aluminium farm gate. Go through the stile by the side of the gate and then through stile opposite. This footpath is marked RW.

[4]
The top of the steps to admire the view of the holiday cottages you have just left, nestled in the heart of the Rossendale valley.

[5]
The gradient now rises quite sharply to the next wooden stile. At the top of the hill the wonderful views continue. Carry on up the hill to the perimeter wall of the reservoir.

[6]
When you reach the wall turn right and continue to follow the wall for approximately 600m. Keep your eyes open for a set of 3 stone steps built into the wall which form the next stile you will cross to enable you to reach the opposite side of the wall.

[7]
Once you are on the other side of the wall turn right and then go through a wooden sprung stile. You have now reached the peak of the walk.

[8]
Now follow the marker arrows down to a small hamlet you will see in front of you. Continue past Nabb Farm to the left, following the track down the hill. You will cross a small bridge over a stream (the stream that runs past the holiday cottages).

[9]
Continue down the track past Spring Hill Barn and then turn right onto Dean Lane. You will shortly find yourself back at the Rossendale Holiday Cottages.
